Douglas Dickson ~ Storyteller/President Ben Lomond Chapter
Douglas Dickson has worked for the Weber County Library System long enough to know a good story when one comes upon him. He has done volunteer storytelling work and has even invited others to join in the cause. He is the President of the Ben Lomond Chapter of the Utah Storytelling Guild.
As one of 11 children, oh how he loved listening to family and school teachers tell stories. Today the little curious, mischievous, tenacious, child inside of him loves how he thinks and feels as he pauses to listen to delightful stories.
He has been telling stories all of my life.
Douglas is a good father of 10 children. He has a deep deep entrenched background in construction, building maintenance, Information technology, and public speaking, weaving nugget after nugget of fun and funny, real and not so real stories into rich valuable meaning.
Now storytelling is his livelihood.
Storytelling is the art form he uses to connect with people today.
He loves his wife Tym of 42 years, his kids, his grandkids, horses, a particular swing set, and a backyard baseball diamond. They camp, hike, and play dodgeball on the trampoline. They love people and enjoy our associations with them.
