The Juicing Experiment

The Juicing Experiment : I’ve been contemplating this question for a while now. So many people are into dieting and exercise these days that it’s easy to take one food and magnify it to the point that I wonder why I eat that when I have a better option for that which doesn’t include going through a slew of pill after pill. A friend of mine told me that with the exception of water, all of our essential nutrients can be found in one serving of wheatgrass. 강남 카지노 I was curious experimentally, so I put some Wheatgrass powder and a scoop of my favorite protein powder into my shake and was indeed blown away by the results.

So what did I discover? Wheatgrass is a whole plant, including the roots, the parts of the plant that aren’t visible or taste, and the sprouts. All parts of the plant have protein, including the leafy root system which has 20 grams of protein in just two ounces. The roots actually help promote healthy cardio-vascular health, something we don’t want in our hearts as much as we do want the cardiovascular system to stay healthy. The leaves of the plant have 20 grams of protein per flat, and the sprouts as little as 8 grams (that’s a lot less than most veggies, but that’s okay, I’m a sprout).

The nutrition sounds good, but I was curious, why were these products necessary? As a trained herbalist, anti-aging and general practitioner, I’m supposed to know all about good nutrition and its profoundly positive effects on human health, but I’m also a bit of a granola freak and the idea of poly-unsaturated, and the convenience of packaged foods that I can store and serve without thinking about the long term implications just doesn’t sit well with me. It’s not just the big companies that can afford to spend money on these kinds of ‘organic’ products. Every health food store, grocery store, deli, and corner store I’ve been able to find in the city (suburbs if you like) surely has somewhere (maybe at least one) with organic cereals, so I’m not alone. Maybe the times we live in are such that we really do need to become as much of an ‘organic’ current as possible.

There’s a difference between learning to eat in a healthy manner and becoming an expert in Organic Food. It’s not a switch that can be turned on and off like a switch between a microwave and full on oven Roisters. Becoming an expert in Organic Food means actually learning to select, prepare, and store foods ‘in theirnatural state’ – how they were intended to be consumed. We do not need to be experts in Organic Cooking, or Organic Grocery Shopping, but would love to have the knowledge, and the desire (however dormant such desires seem in the typical American) to purchase and cook only those foods which stem from the Earth and not from a factory or laboratory.

If you want to be expert in Organic Cooking and become an expert in Organic Food – get busy, get Borderlands, and get busy. Learn to grow (and eat) as many meals as possible on the weekends, and then you’ll be heads down–so what? You’re an adult, it’s your body’s natural way of healing itself, and you can do this.
